Re: What is your best software?(Must have)

Yeah, I hate it when programs automatically install extra garbage you didn't want. I don't mind them offering the garbage for people who want it, but it shouldn't be selected for installation by default.

Re: Yamaha Genos UK Dealer Launch 6th & 7th November 2017

The pictured Genos is 76-key, so we know there's that-- but some people have noted that a 61-key model might not have enough room for all the panel controls, so they're wondering if there will even be a 61-key version! Someone said the second(?) video shows the touch screen being used, confirming th...

Re: YouTube , now what ?

Saul, I don't remember if this forum won't switch to full-screen on embedded videos. It works on some forums, but not on all forums. So if it doesn't work on this forum, there might be a setting you can change which will allow it-- or maybe it's something in the code for the viewing window?

Going to need a Genos subforum soon

I think the new Genos keyboard from Yamaha is due to be unveiled to the public later this month or early next month. I think it was unveiled to some dealers last night, at least in Germany(?). And Yamaha has posted at least two teaser videos-- which unfortunately don't reveal very much-- with two mo...

Re: What is your best software?(Must have)

I used to use CCleaner regularly, but stopped using it about a year ago because I'd read an article about how registry cleaners such as CCleaner can sometimes do more harm than good. Consequently, I haven't updated my copy of CCleaner in quite a while-- thank goodness!

Re: YouTube , now what ?

Usually when someone embeds a YouTube video in a forum post-- either here or at some other forum-- I end up going to YouTube to view it, anyway, so I can switch to full-screen mode, because sometimes I can't switch to full-screen mode on the embedded video. But if I do that, I usually open the YouTu...

Re: What is your best software?(Must have)

For graphics editors, I mainly go back and forth between Microsoft Paint and Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI . I've just always preferred the simplicity of Paint's UI. However, Paint Shop Pro lets you save in more formats, and more importantly it lets you control the details for many of those formats-...

Re: Laughable launch to new iPhone!

Okay, here's the ad for the new iPhone:

(Man holds iPhone out, as though taking a selfie...) "Can you see me now?"

(Man moves unresponsive iPhone in another direction...) "Can you see me now?"

(Man moves still-unresponsive iPhone upward and tilts it toward his face...) "Can you see me now?"

Re: Newbie help with editor

I really should have had one of those to wear when I was teaching satellite data comms. Too late now. It's never too late to wear a propeller cap! :) The husband-and-wife bosses/owners of the last company I worked for bought me a propeller cap as a sort of joke gift one year when a com...

Re: Newbie help with editor

Trying a different USB port sometimes does the trick so give that a go. That's another thing about using a MIDI keyboard via USB. I don't know if it can cause problems with the driver, but it isn't a Yamaha issue-- and I'm not sure if it's a Windows-specific issue or is true with other operating sy...

Re: MX61 v1 or v2 ?

Just to clarify, a version 2 MX61 or MX49 can be black, so if you're buying a used one and it's black, I don't think you can tell from the casing whether it's version 1 or version 2. However, if it comes with an owner's manual, I think (but I'm not 100% certain) that it should probably say "MX49 MX6...

Re: Newbie help with editor

I should hope that the Yamaha Steinberg driver would work with the MX49, but it needs to be a version 2 MX49. The page you were looking at may have been for the version 1 MX49, which on Yamaha's USA site is indicated as being "discontinued." I think the version 2 models are listed on the site with B...

Re: MX61 v1 or v2 ?

I'm not sure about the black models. But if it's blue or white then it's version 2, because version 1 was available only in black.
