Re: YouTube , now what ?

Going to Microsoft browsers is a step backwards , my friend..... ;) Yeah, computers are just uninteresting but necessary tools for me, the twangers and gear is what brightens up my day. I'll have to find a better browser, hopefully one that isn't too difficult to deal with. Regards Pe...

Re: EX7 newbie alert!

Ski did a great job on the samples considering they all fit in 16MB of memory for the full set. Have MTRON pro myself and that is my go to for convincing Mellotron Samples. VSM is also very good as well for getting the sounds of a whole bunch of vintage string machines!

Re: Roland FA07 Review

I just cannot understand why manufacturers skimp on aftertouch..... It can't add a huge amount to the cost. :?: One reason why I lashed out on the Montage was not just the sound capabilities, but to make sure I got a decent 76 note semi-weighted keybed - with aftertouch. If I keep the Montage...

Re: SY77 won't boot after proactively replacing battery :-(

Yes, if working....

I only replaced my SY99 batteries whilst I had it in pieces doing the display upgraded and measured one at 1.1V, so on the way out and worth changing.....

Re: EX7 newbie alert!

Hello and welcome. There is no easy way to see assignments on the keyboard itself, other than going to the edit pages. A registered version of my ex.factory librarian (see x.factory signature link) can export a HTML listing of all data in a file, including controller assignments. So that is an optio...

Re: SY77 won't boot after proactively replacing battery :-(

Hello. This will be a very dumb question, but have you actually measured the battery voltage? It should be reading 3.2V or thereabouts. If not then the SYs are renowned for boot problems if the battery voltage is down (to answer your question). TBH, I would not have gone for another soldered battery...

Welcome to the forums. If you have not already seen it, do check out www.ex5tech.co.uk (temp site whilst ex5tech.com is down). Re: Sending program change to Yamaha EX7 with iPad

Hi. You will need to send a "banked" program change message to the EX5, to ensure the patch change is recognised in performance mode.

This is listed on Page 43 of the EX5 Data List
  • Bank Select MSB (CC 00) = 63
  • Bank Select LSB (CC 32) = 64
  • Program Change = <Program Number>

That '83 picture reminds of a picture of one of our cats over a Commodore Amiga 1040S monitor. The posture is nearly identical. :)

Re: RE: Roland Juno 6 Chorus (help?)

That's a shame. Worth a try though, if there were no other options. Only other real option then is to watch for a Juno or Juno boards going for spares.

Hello, and welcome. I don't have any of those boards, but hopefully others do. Sounds like you are 81 years young. :)

Re: Yamaha DX7 Specific Web Site

Derek, I also have a TX81z that has its own strengths although I am not sure how it stacks up against an SY77. In any event, software synthesis has surely surpassed all these dinosaurs. Native Instrument's FM8 is a more powerful FM synth than any DX could ever be and NI's Reaktor can most likely do...
