Yamaha Reset List

Here's a quick link to Yamaha's reset list in case you want to know how to put your keyboard back to factory settings. Remember to back up any user created patches etc before you perform a reset!

The link above seems dead. However, the reset list is still available at the Swiss and Belgian Yamaha site:

Yamaha Switzerland reset list

Yamaha Belgium reset list

The reset procedure for the SY85 is not in the list, but it is described in this SY85 FAQ (under "I have heard there is a secret 'Test Menu' on the Yamaha SY85 - Is this true?"):

All the links provided by Chris are dead too. Can anyone just type the procedure out? I think it would be more helpful than any links.

The link to Pure Energy sill works.

The reset procedure is as follows :

Setting your SY85 to factory settings

You'll need a copy of the Factory Presets disk supplied with the SY85 as running a Factory Set will erase all sounds

Press the [SHIFT], [STORE] and [EXIT] buttons together. The SY85 will show a 'Welcome Brother' screen.

Press the [MENU] button and then press the [+1] button. The SY85 will run the Factory Set procedure and then restart.

Insert the Factory Presets disk and then press the [UTILITY] button and then select Sub Mode 'DISK' button.

Press the [F1] button and then press [ENTER/YES] twice. You'll hear the disk drive spin-up and the SY85 will load all the original sounds. Your machine is now fully restored to the factory settings.
