Thank you very much for this hint. With the tool, I was able to unpack the remaining IMZ files from X-Club. However, most of the IMZ sets were files for SY77 or TX16W that I want to put in separate libraries, not the SY99 library, even if the SY99 is compatible.

I have updated the dat files with the X-Club SY99 Sample Library and renamed the SSI sets to SSU.

First, I did not want to upload my sorted set, because I wanted everybody interested to get in touch with clrmamepro to support this project ;), but because especially unpacking every single IMZ file is a really boring job, I decided to make an exception today. But again, please help filtering your sets with clrmamepro to find missing pieces.

This is the download link, updated dat files included: http://www2.zshare.ma/nvcyruvoihio. The archive only contains files that are (still) available on the web.

There is also an new unsorted file. Most of the files in the archive are tools and documents, just a few banks, sysex data and mid files left: http://www2.zshare.ma/bg8zfw1uwtmx

This is the latest version of the dat files: http://www2.zshare.ma/srgralncyzun.

New disks e.g. from the archives mentioned at http://www.yamahaforums.co.uk/forum/vie ... 262#p20269 have been added.

You will also find now a "duplicate" dat, that collects the duplicates. So, if you use all 3 dats on a source directory with the deletion option of matched sourcfiles enabled, only unknown and still to be sorted sets should be left (besides of tools, documents, midi files, sysex files).

Nevertheless, still a lot is missing, a few sets even unsorted because they are from an unknown source - any help is appreciated ;)

I don´t know if there are any more bigger online ressources left, but I believe that we have come to a point where most of the SY99 content left is (at least former) copyrighted material or material where the copyright status is unknown.
I understand if people fear getting problems when they distribute or post further sets even if they are not available anymore in the stores, older than 15 years and disks as well as drives are about to die.

However, you can still contribute to this project, even if you refuse to posts or send me your sets. If you look with a text editor at the content of a clrmamepro dat file, you can clearly see how it works:

Code: Select all

<game name="PDD-SY99-01 - Sound Collection 1">
   <description>PDD-SY99-01 - Sound Collection 1</description>
   <rom name="PDD99-01.T01" size="626688" crc="8e629a4d" md5="b5999324efb7a89b2acac0abde190a26" sha1="95bd56e4d3ff0b7bc333ff0868614e65577e5ca4"/>
   <rom name="PDD99-01.TXT" size="77" crc="18efe3cb" md5="7d610a38830114ed619b9232062db883" sha1="5a82eb040438fb65b5406e8a0d9fc430df9bd6d2"/>
</game>
So, all I need from you is the name of the files (clrmamepro calls it "rom name") and their size, CRC32, MD5 and SHA1 value - and maybe a recommendation for the name of the set ("game name").

For calculating all these values, you can use e.g. the freeware tool "Hash My Files" from http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/hash_my_files.html.

As an alternative, you can use clrmamepro itself. There is a button called "dir2dat" in the profile menu that I use for generating the dats. Remove all checkboxes apart from "calculate MD5" and "calculate SHA1" and maybe the search in subfolders option. Select the source directory with the compressed SY99 sets and the output dir where you want the datfile to be stored. That´s how I generated my datfiles.

Attached you will find updated dat files I did some days/weeks ago - I think I just did some more renamings.

I haven´t found or got information of new sets since my last post, and even on a "80.000 sounds library collection" I bought in the meantime from eBay, I did not find more files than already posted here.

I still have some scans of Easy Sounds catalogues from the 90ies that might help finding and identifying missing sets - I might upload it when I have OCRed it (e.g. for searching and translation). But nevertheless, your help is needed to continue this project.

Updated dat files: I found some new duplicates on the Facebook community page and added 3 missing Sound Source Unlimited banks to the "Official Sets" collection (Vector Emulation, Super R&B and Killer B3s).

Just a minor update: The K3Waves set by Emma Logan has been added to the user sets (only the t01 and t02 files, not the dsk file), and "EASY SOUNDS CD-9903 Digital Fascination", however still a lot of disks/checksums are missing. And my new copy of "EASY SOUNDS CD-9905 Dance Producer" is defective (http://www.yamahaforums.co.uk/forum/vie ... =55&t=8094), so it has not been added yet...
