Insert it anywhere to SEE exactly what data is traveling or NOT traveling in your system, and on what channel(s).

An Asset in the GigBag or Studio for nailing those midi problems quickly . . .

Indeed Derek . . . (I missed that) . . .

We had about 10 of them at the Uni. It was one of my jobs to keep them supplied with pp3s.

The Students used to forget to switch them off - so, No auto-off usually meant Flat Battery . . .

Although it can run off a Wall-Wart . . . . .

I was told by someone there that they were based around a Custom Chip, that became obsolete, so re-manufacture seems unlikely - which is a shame for such an incredibly useful device . . . .

I've messaged the guy about it . . . .

If you use midi to any degree these are INCREDIBLY useful for your Gig-Bag, or Studio bottom-drawer.
