importing a sample - (wav) where are the loop points?

Unread post by GuyDenruyter »

Hello,

I saved a .wav sample created in Audacity. I can import the sample in my Modx, but where can i specify that this sample should be looped? Even the "edit waveform" does not allow me to do this - am I missing something? Perhaps, loop points can be "embedded" in the .wav file itself, but then I guess I need some other software to do this?

Thanks for feedback!

Modx Wave Editor by John Melas.
Then import wav file in initialized Drums instrument in order to control Start/Stop loop.

Mr. Clendelinn (aka Bad Mister) from Yamaha blog somewhere on forums explained it in details.

Thanks, so the looping points are embedded in the .wav itself. I tried it with Wavosaur freeware, and this indeed seems to work (no need for the Melas software here), so my samples are imported and play looped.

However, it seems that the Modx only pitches the tone correctly up to a certain point. When playing higher notes, the sample does not change pitch anymore - has this to do with limited processing capacities of the Modx? It typically happens with short loops (loops of 1000 samples or so).

You can use any of your choice soft for looping.
As soon as it works.
(I work with Sample Robot stretching samples e.g if i need less Wav file size of a patch 2 notes per octave, no problems at all).

Thanks! It still remains a mystery to me why stretching has such limits...
