Hi,

I once heard a CD of Russian Orthodox choir which was very contemporary. I mean they were all singing the strangest of intervals and it was very dissonant. I really liked it though! - wish I could remember what it was?

Composer Dallapiccola has produced some outstanding material:

This one was particularly beautiful I thought... (That's got to be woman on the far left, hitting the high notes..)

Fashionably late to the party :-)

Not really strange to post. I've a few chant CD's in my collection.

Another I have is this album one, or two chants on this you may like.

If you liked the Haley Westenra version of may it be, try the earlier version with Lisa Kelly.
I binge CW sometimes, I splurged on all there DVD's when I saw them in a store.
They had a concert in Adelaide a few years ago, no one wanted to go with me I guess
this must be an acquired taste ...

This one gives me shivers sometimes,

Rara, between the two, I actually do like Lisa Kelly's voice best in that song..

In Salve Regina;A Templar Chant..

There is a drone bass part throughout. Are those men's voices or is that an instrument? If they are men, that's a really LOW note ..(and long). Assuming there is more than one singer, it would be a real exercise in staggered, seamless, breathing! I'm a fan of Medieval times and this is very cool..

Thank you for sharing. Love it :)
