B3 Organ sound

Unread post by Noise »

Hello,

I got a Yamaha Genos since couple months and I'd like to know if a member knows how to get '' Hammond B3 sound '' on the Genos (ORGAN SELECTION)

Michel. (Quebec :flags-canada: :confusion-confused: -Canada)

Hi

I don't own a Genos myself, but looking at the Voice Data list, then I would say at least the first 20 organ voices listed on Page 3 are mostly likely Hammond sounds

Personally I go the modelling route for an authentic Hammond and use something like the IK Multi Media Hammond B3X, which is endorsed by Hammond Suzuki. Why do I say this? Because static based samples just cannot recreate the complexities and subtleties of the Hammond sound, and of course the quality of the Leslie Emulation will have a huge impact on the quality of the emulation

Having said that a decent workstartion/synth like a Genos/Montage with good samples and a good Leslie model will get you a long way - just don't expect it to be totally authentic.

TBH I thought it sounded OK. For the price it is good of course, but I've been spoilt and am quite fussy about my Hammond sounds.
