BC-1 Manual and general use

Unread post by FailedMuso »

Hi All,

I've got a couple of BC-1 breath controllers and haven't really explored their use until now. I've tried looking for a manual online and all I can find is one for the BC-3. So my first question is... Does anyone have a PDF of the BC-1 manual? I don't imagine it was anything more than a small sheet.

My second question is more about using them in general. I've tried using it with a few BC patches on my DX5 and whilst I get the desired effect, it seems like an awful lot of puff is required. I've adjusted the small screw on the underside and have achieved something close to useable but I noticed that if I deliberately blocked the vent on top, I had a much better response as I could control the effect by adjusting the pressure in my mouth. In fact, my other BC-1 that I got a few weeks ago had a small square of electrical tape over the vent so I assume that this was done for the same reason. I have to say, the whistling from the vent is really distracting!

Anyone with BC-1 experience that can give me any tips?

Thanks in advance!

Rob.

Hi Rob . . . .

Best I could find is this:

Yamaha BC1 ServiceManual-EN.pdf
(385.92 KiB) Downloaded 7 times

Not really a Service Manual per se - more of a Parts List, but page 7 has an exploded view . . . .

The Parts mentioned are all in Japanese, though the Part Numbers are shown . . . .

perhaps it's some help?
