Recording MIDI.... or not!

Unread post by Rossb »

Hi
I'm just getting used to my new Montage 6 and an awesome beast it is! I dabble mainly in improvisation so I like to hit the record button and go where the mood takes me. But I find that if I manipulate the volume controls during record they do exactly the same thing during playback. So I'm wondering is it possible to only record the MIDI sounds and NOT the manipulation of the volume controls while recording a song?
Thanks for your help.

Hi, you do not say what you are recording into, but volume is normally MIDI CC7 or sometimes CC11 (expression) can have an effect on volume (if set up for volume swell in a patch). So either filter those during recording or playback in your MIDI device.

Or it might be an NRPN on the volume slider being recorded.

THE Derek from The Ex tech website! Thanks for responding! I'm just recording the song directly into the Montage.
